Q: First things first, what’s your favourite Love Cocoa chocolate?

Lara: Oh, that’s easy: the Maldon Sea Salt Dark Chocolate Bar. Not to pick favourites, but I think it’s impossible to beat! I mean, it’s rich, velvety, and has those perfect little flakes of sea salt that just pop. Plus, I like to tell myself it’s the sophisticated choice, but really, I just love it because it’s so moreish. Once you open it, there’s no going back.

 

Q: Why Maldon sea salt? Isn’t salt just salt?

Lara: That’s such a great question because not all salt is created equal! Maldon sea salt is iconic. It’s hand-harvested in the UK and has this beautiful flakey texture that melts perfectly on your tongue. The flavour is subtle yet transformative, it enhances the sweetness of the chocolate and adds a delicate crunch. It’s like a little sprinkle of magic that turns a good bar into a great one.

Lara: It all starts with our commitment to quality. We don’t cut corners, ever. Every ingredient we use is carefully chosen for its flavour, origin, and the story behind it. For our Maldon Sea Salt Bar, for example, we pair our velvety single-origin Peruvian cocoa with hand-harvested Maldon sea salt, which is renowned for its delicate texture and clean taste. The result? Q: Do you have a fun fact about the Billionaire's Bar?

Lara: Oh, absolutely! Did you know the inspiration for the Billionaire’s Bar came from classic millionaire shortbread, but we wanted to take it to the next level. The buttery caramel and crunchy biscuit pieces in the creamy milk chocolate are pure decadence.

 Fun fact: during testing, we couldn’t keep the samples in stock. Our team kept “accidentally” eating them before the feedback sessions!

 

Q: What’s next for Love Cocoa’s truffles? Any exciting plans?

Lara: Oh, truffles are such a joy to work with! We’ve been exploring some really bold and playful flavor combinations that will totally surprise people.
